The Northwestern Lehigh Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Notre Dame-Green Pond as Northwestern Lehigh made off with a 43-21 win. Considering Northwestern Lehigh has won 11 contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dalton Clymer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 193 yards and three touchdowns. Clymer is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Zimmerman, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Notre Dame-Green Pond's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Danny Darno, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was AJ Lozano, who picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Northwestern Lehigh's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Wilson Area and 2-9 Lehighton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40.5% over those games). As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Northwestern Lehigh will take on Palmerton at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. Palmerton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Northwestern Lehigh likes a good challenge. Notre Dame-Green Pond does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
