If the Mendocino Cardinals were feeling good off their 65-30 takedown of the Potter Valley Bearcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mendocino fell 56-48 to Rio Lindo Adventist on Thursday. Mendocino was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rio Lindo Adventist apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Rio Lindo Adventist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Campbell led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Jhordany Barcenas, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Mendocino has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mendocino on the road again on Tuesday and play against Anderson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they will face off against North Bay Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
