The Skyline Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 63-44 fall against Alta. Skyline has struggled against the Hawks recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karson Kaufusi, who scored eight points. David Rasmussen was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Alta got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxon Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Doleac, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Skyline has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Alta, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline will square off against the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Eagles a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Alta, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.
