After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Cornelius Barclay in the first quarter,
Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, Pa.) led 34-18 at the half.
The Lakers expanded their lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. Mercyhurst Prep scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Barclay.
Barclay and
Baer Eric ran for a bunch of touchdowns for Cambridge Springs (Pa.).
MP's standout player in the win was Barclay. The senior running back caught one touchdown. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
The Devils' Devin Walker played well. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 67-24 win for the Erie school.
The defeat comes as a step back for Cambridge Springs, which notched a 21-0 victory over Maplewood in its previous outing.
Mercyhurst Prep (7-2) will play a non-conference game against Northwestern next week, while Cambridge Springs (3-6) will take on Union also in a non-conference game.
