The Mather Rangers will face off against the Senn Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Monday, Mather didn't have quite enough to beat Prosser and fell 11-10.
Mather saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dahli Sanchez, who got on base in three of her seven plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Senn entered their tilt with Von Steuben on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-4.
Audrey Lebovitz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Senn let Pippa Gerharz and Gabrielle Smith run wild. Gerharz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Smith got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gerharz has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Ericka Ako was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Senn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in five consecutive games.
Senn's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Mather, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Everything went Mather's way against Senn when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Mather made off with a 7-1 victory. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
