Pontiac and the Eagles are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Pontiac Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ferndale Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Pontiac came up short against the Knights and fell 46-37. Pontiac has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Ferndale unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Novi.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Janiya Larry, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Demi Bolton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Pontiac has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Ferndale, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.
Pontiac took a serious blow against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 63-13. Can Pontiac avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
