It was a good run, but the Memorial Day Matadors unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-49 to First Preparatory Christian Academy. Memorial Day was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as First Preparatory Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
First Preparatory Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Betton, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and five assists. Betton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Jeremiah Moore was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Memorial Day's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Memorial Day will head out on the road to challenge Coastal HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Coastal HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 302 points over their last four matches. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Twiggs Academy at 6:00 p.m.
