On Friday Hilldale take on Sallisaw at 7:00 PM. Hilldale don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After a string of four wins, Hilldale's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-46 punch to the gut against Broken Bow. Hilldale got a solid performance out of senior Dawson Neighbors, who picked up 75 yards on the ground and accumulated 103 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Neighbors has been a consistent playmaker for Hilldale as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 6 points in their last match, Sallisaw made sure to put some points up on the board against Stilwell. Sallisaw made easy work of Stilwell and carried off a 42-21 victory. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Sallisaw as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Sallisaw's victory lifted them to 1-4 while Hilldale's loss dropped them down to 4-1. In their win, Sallisaw relied heavily on senior Nate Asbill, who rushed for 273 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hilldale will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
