Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silverado). They blew past the Cheyenne Desert Shields 77-51 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Skyhawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Several Desert Shields players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elias Santos-Brown, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Santos-Brown a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Dalton, who posted 11 points in addition to six steals and five assists.
Silverado's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Cheyenne, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
Silverado will be playing at home against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Liberty's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches. Cheyenne has already played their next game (against Amplus Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
