Northwest Rankin's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Meridian on Friday. The Northwest Rankin Cougars really took it to the Petal Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-24 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Rankin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn Crumedy, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Howard, who posted 13 points.

Northwest Rankin was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.9 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 8.9.

Northwest Rankin pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Petal, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Northwest Rankin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-26 win against Brookhaven on the 18th. Petal has also already played their next game (against Oak Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
