This season hasn't been kind to the St. Joseph Spartans, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They took a 53-39 bruising from Hillel Academy on Tuesday. St. Joseph was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hillel Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
St. Joseph's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Ross, who scored 13 points. The matchup was Ross' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Spencer, who scored 12 points.
St. Joseph bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hillel Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will take on Imani Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Imani Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Joseph in Pennsylvania (Imani Christian Academy is ranked 128th, while St. Joseph is ranked 718th). As for Hillel Academy, they will be playing at home against Neighborhood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
