The Athens Wildcats posted their biggest win since December 6, 2023 on Saturday. They put the hurt on Vestal with a sharp 71-50 victory. The win was familiar territory for Athens who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Connor Mosher, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nick Jacob, who scored ten points.
Athens is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Vestal, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Athens will head out on the road to square off against Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vestal, they will play host again and welcome Owego Free Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Owego Free Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Vestal likes a good challenge.
