After three games on the road, Pine View is heading back home. They will take on the Manti Templars at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine View has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 363 points over their last six games.
Pine View pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Bear River 66-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (59), Pine View still had to take the loss.
Pine View's loss came about despite a quality game from Nash Schroeder, who scored 31 points along with six steals. Schroeder scored a full 50.8% of Pine View's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Manti pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Crimson Cliffs by a score of 72-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (56), Manti still had to take the loss.
Pine View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Manti, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Pine View lost to Manti at home by a decisive 66-51 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Pine View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
