The Edgewood Warriors put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lakeside 64-28 on the road. Edgewood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 30 points or more this season.
Edgewood was led to victory by Avery Vencill and Katie Mccollister. Vencill scored 11 points along with seven assists and four steals, while Mccollister scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Mccollister hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Leigha Guyton, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Edgewood pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Lakeside, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood will take on Perry at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Edgewood is ranked 84th). As for Lakeside, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Harvey at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Harvey is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
