The Esperanza Aztecs will be playing in front of their home fans against the El Dorado Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Esperanza, who comes in off a win.
Esperanza can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Canyon by a score of 34-27. The victory was just what Esperanza needed coming off of a 41-20 defeat in their prior match.
Esperanza got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Forsgren out in front who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Forsgren is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Jack Lee was another key contributor, gaining 62 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, El Dorado were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were beaten by El Modena 38-10. El Dorado was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Esperanza now has a winning record of 5-4. As for El Dorado, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Esperanza was dealt a bruising 52-14 loss at the hands of El Dorado when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Esperanza have more luck at home instead of on the road?
