Matt Hynes and EJ Wallace provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Middletown. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this season.
Walkersville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Urbana, 17-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lions.
Frederick's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hynes threw for 279 and four touchdowns and Alex Levine had 89 yards receiving. On the ground Hynes chipped in 91 yards. Wallace helped Frederick's passing attack out by catching one ball for 65 yards.
Frederick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cadets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hynes has thrown for 851 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Levine has 20 catches for 335 yards. Jerel English leads the league in rushing with 513 yards.
A big matchup in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week will be when Linganore takes on the Cadets. The Lancers are currently in fifth, while Frederick is in third.
