Woodstock Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Ellington Knights at 6:45 p.m. on December 28th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Woodstock Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 67-58 victory over Old Lyme.
Meanwhile, Ellington entered their tilt with Lyman Memorial with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ellington came out on top against Lyman Memorial by a score of 58-46 last Wednesday. Given Ellington's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Lyman Memorial is ranked 77th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Woodstock Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ellington, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Woodstock Academy ended up a good deal behind Ellington in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, losing 71-57. Can Woodstock Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
