On Monday, the Millville Quakers's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 51-47 W over Canton. For Millville, this counts as revenge for the 58-29 defeat Canton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Millville can attribute much of their success to Tommy Kraintz, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Chase Reynolds was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 3 steals.
When it comes to explaining why Canton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ben Fitch. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Route, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Canton were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millville only pulled down five.
Millville's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Millville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Juniata Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. As for Canton, they will head out on the road to face off against Austin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
