Hackley moved up to 335 from 482 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Fairchester. The Hornets climbed the ranks as a result of a 56-14 win over Fieldston.
King Low Heywood Thomas suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 14-7 loss to King Low Heywood Thomas. The Vikings had been ranked 19th, but fell to 50 following the defeat.
St. Luke's's dynamic duo of Charlie Nelson and Noel Thomas proved tough for Hamden Hall Country Day to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nelson threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns and Thomas had 147 yards receiving. Blake Stroman helped St. Luke's' passing attack out by catching three balls for 105 yards.
Joey Santoro was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 196 yards as King Low Heywood Thomas defeated Hamden Hall Country Day. Zach Mulhern also contributed to the rushing game with 113 yards on the ground.
TJ Linta provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Joe Linta's team lost to St. Luke's. He completed 18 passes for 242 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 47 yards. Linta's favorite target this week was Michael Breuler, who caught eight passes for 96 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Linta of Hamden Hall Country Day is the league leader in passing yards this season with 721. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, Kingswood-Oxford's Sharrieff Grice has rushed for 644 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Stroman. The St. Luke's star has 14 catches for 348 yards.
A big matchup in Fairchester this week will be when the Wyverns take on Noel Thomas's team. As it stands, Kingswood-Oxford is in fifth, while the Storm are in first.
St. Luke's extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hamden Hall Country Day, 48-27. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
