The Crane Cranes had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 41-32 victory over Alpine. 41 seems to be a good number for Crane as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Despite the loss, Alpine saw an underclassman step up: Daedrick Hardwick picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown. Sean Mendoza made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Crane pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Alpine, Tornillo, and Compass Academy. As for Alpine, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Crane will square off against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alpine, they will head out on the road to face off against Brady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brady focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
