Trinity Episcopal dropped down to 3-3 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Bishop O'Connell Knights, falling 14-2. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Bishop O'Connell, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.
For Bishop O'Connell's part, Daggu Rana was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rana was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Kayden Ragsdale looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryant James, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chaz Walker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Coming up, Trinity Episcopal will be playing at home against Benedictine at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop O'Connell, they will venture away from home to take on Our Lady of Good Counsel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
