The Greenville Christian Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Bern Christian Academy. Greenville Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as New Bern Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Faith Huffman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Bern Christian Academy, scoring 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huffman has scored all season. Alli Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Greenville Christian Academy bumped their record down to 6-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wilmington Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Wilmington Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 last Friday. New Bern Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pungo Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Allison Sawyer and Huffman.
