The Triton Hawks pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 79-57 defeat at the hands of Westover. It was the first time this season that Triton let down their fans at home.
Triton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ahmad Morris, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds, and Javon Cowan who scored 14 points. Morris is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Demarbiaz Devane, who scored seven points.
Ari Fulton was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Westover. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fulton has scored at least 25% of Westover's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Allen, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Triton's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4. As for Westover, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Triton will be playing at home against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westover, they will head out on the road to face off against Terry Sanford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
