Independence dropped to 4-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 9-2 to the Prospect Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the 76ers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Julieta Ramirez was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Ramirez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
As for Prospect, their record is now 2-4. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Independence: they've now won three in a row.
Like Independence, Prospect also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendall Tabora. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Tabora a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
In other batting news, Kamila Macias was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Saviana Macias, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Coming up, Independence will venture away from home to challenge Christopher at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The 76ers will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Prospect, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
