On Friday, The Opelika Bulldogs faced the Dothan Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Opelika fell to Dothan 38-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Leading Dothan to victory were Aj Alexander and Tamarion Peterson. Alexander rushed for 247 yards while picking up 14.5 yards per carry, while Peterson rushed for 147 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Opelika has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Dothan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Opelika does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dothan will look to defend their home field on Friday against JAG at 7:00 p.m. JAG comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
