Immaculate Conception Academy pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dominion Academy.
Dominion Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Heerdt out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Heerdt has scored at least a third of Dominion Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Campbell, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Immaculate Conception Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Dominion Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Immaculate Conception Academy will head out on the road to square off against the at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dominion Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Saints at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
