Illiana Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abbie Ritzema out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Ritzema has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Olthof, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The victory (which was Illiana Christian's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Calumet New Tech, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Illiana Christian will take on Kouts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calumet New Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lighthouse College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Lighthouse College Prep Academy is ranked 405th, while Calumet New Tech is ranked 410th).
