The Kennedy Crusaders and Ogden International squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Kennedy Crusaders had to settle for second. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with the Crusaders falling 64-50. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Gallas. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Joseph Dahl was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Alonte' Reynolds, who scored 29 points for Ogden International. That makes it six consecutive games in which Reynolds has scored at least a third of Ogden International's points. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Perry-Tucker, who scored 15 points.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Ogden International, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Juarez at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Ogden International will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Richards at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th. Richards has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
