This season hasn't been kind to the Mountain View Generals, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They were the victim of a rough 51-30 loss at the hands of Madison County on Friday. Mountain View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Madison County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Madison County was led to victory by Michelle Thompson and Ava Hettinger. Thompson scored five points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Hettinger scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Hettinger pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ava Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Mountain View's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-13. As for Madison County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Mountain View will head out on the road to face off against Strasburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Strasburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mountain View in Virginia (Strasburg is ranked 56th, while Mountain View is ranked 389th). As for Madison County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central Woodstock at 7:30 p.m.
