Orangeburg Prep strolled past Calhoun Academy with points to spare, taking the game 51-33. The win made it back-to-back wins for Orangeburg Prep.
Orangeburg Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Hall, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Tilden Riley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Calhoun Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Colt Layton and Chase Strickland. Layton scored 11 points along with two steals, while Strickland scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Layton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Orangeburg Prep's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Calhoun Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangeburg Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Palmetto Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Palmetto Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Calhoun Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Clarendon Hall at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
