The Fox Chapel Foxes fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Gateway Gators on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. Fox Chapel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gateway apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.
Fox Chapel's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being John Rehak, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Siegel, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gateway, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Fox Chapel will be playing in front of their home fans against Hempfield Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway, they will head out on the road to face off against Taylor Allderdice at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
