Basketball Recap: Chesterton Skates Past Michigan City with Ease

Chesterton won the last time they faced Michigan City and things went their way on Friday too. The Chesterton Trojans claimed a resounding 56-21 win over the Michigan City Wolves. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Chesterton to victory were Novea Brandon and Tenley Davis. Brandon went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points along with six boards and four steals, while Davis posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brandon a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsi Mcguffey, who put up nine points.

Chesterton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only pulled down four offensive boards.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paulecia Isom, who had ten points and seven steals. Isom has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Chesterton's record now sits at 6-3. As for Michigan City, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Chesterton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-33 victory against Washington Township on the 10th. As for Michigan City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-39 defeat against Lake Central on the 13th.
