Columbia won the last time they faced Wharton and things went their way on Friday too. The Roughnecks blew past the Tigers 18-2. The Roughnecks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Grant Thrasher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Thrasher was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Columbia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wharton only posted an OBP of .391.

Columbia's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9-2. As for Wharton, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Coming up, Columbia will square off against Brazos at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wharton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
