Liberty hasn't had much luck against Rancho Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bison will look to defend their home court against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. The last four games Liberty has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, Liberty didn't have quite enough to beat Paloma Valley and fell 3-2.
Liberty took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 25-14, 19-17.
Meanwhile, Rancho Christian waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory.
Rancho Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-11.
Rancho Christian had a senior duo take command as Bailey Morrison had 45 assists and three aces and Brighton Richards had seven digs and one assist. Those 45 assists set a new season-high mark for Morrison.
Rancho Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in six consecutive matches.
Rancho Christian's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
