The Vertus Warriors pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 92-61 defeat at the hands of Aquinas Institute. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vertus in their matchups with Aquinas Institute: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reginald Pough, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Dah'mere Brown was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Vertus' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Aquinas Institute, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vertus will take on Northstar Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aquinas Institute, they will be playing at home against The Park School of Buffalo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
