Abby McManus made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.
McManus wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ansley Fishel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
