There's no place like home for Nokomis, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans 54-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.
Nolan Herpstreith had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 103 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadynn Petty, who gained 60 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nokomis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nokomis' defense and their five sacks. Noah Simonton refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
