Seneca hasn't had much luck against Shawnee recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will square off against the Renegades at 3:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Seneca duked it out with Burlington Township on Monday. The Golden Eagles blew past the Falcons 14-4.

Jack Insinga made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lester Hann, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Vaughn Worthing was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Seneca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Shawnee made easy work of Cherokee on Wednesday and carried off a 13-1 win. The Renegades might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Kayden Maybury tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lleyton Coughlin was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Chase Kowal, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Shawnee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Seneca, their record now sits at 7-9.
Seneca couldn't quite get it done against Shawnee when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 8-3. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
