The Lathrop Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 64-40 loss at the hands of Mountain House. While losing is never fun, Lathrop can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1010th, while Mountain House is ranked 185th).
Leading Mountain House to victory were Coldin Parker and Jordan Assefa. Parker scored 11 points, while Assefa scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Jones, who scored nine points.
Lathrop has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Mountain House, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Lathrop will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Banos at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Los Banos is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Mountain House, they will head out on the road to challenge Ceres at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Ceres has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 537 points over their last eight matchups.
