The Erath Bobcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Crowley by a score of 72-59. The win was some much needed relief for Erath as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Crowley's loss came despite strong showings from Joe'Kye Pete and Alaysia Arvie. Pete almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Arvie scored 21 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. That was a full 35.6% of Crowley's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Something new happened on Tuesday as Pete saw her first action of the season, playing 29 minutes against Erath. Pete made the most of the opportunity, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Even though they lost, Crowley were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Erath's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for Crowley, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
Erath does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crowley, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Martinville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crowley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games.
