After two games on the road, Maine East is heading back home. They will take on the Wheeling Wildcats at 7:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Hopefully Maine East focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up eight last Tuesday.
 Last Tuesday, Maine East didn't have too much trouble with Niles North on the road   as they won  45-31.
 Maine East found their leader in underclassman  Arabella Silva, who  scored 24 points along with nine  rebounds and three  steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which  Silva has scored at least a third of Maine East's points.  Maria Gonzalez was another key contributor,  scoring six points.
 Meanwhile, Wheeling's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Highland Park by a score of  49-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat Wheeling has suffered  yet this season.
 Maine East's win  ended a three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 10-9. As for Wheeling, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost five of their last six matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
 Maine East skirted past Wheeling  38-35 in their previous matchup  back in January of 2023. Does  Maine East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wheeling turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
