Basketball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Seton Catholic Central

Seton Catholic Central extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Michael Mannix. The Seton Catholic Central Knights were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over the Johnsburg Central Jaguars on Monday thanks in part to Mannix, who went 14 of 35 on his way to 33 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Oliver Hughes, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and three blocks. Those three blocks gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Johnsburg Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nick Sauer-Jones dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 52.5% of Johnsburg Central's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Seton Catholic Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Johnsburg Central, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Seton Catholic Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 86-29 win against Willsboro Central on the 14th. As for Johnsburg Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 85-53 loss against Wells on the 14th.
