Perry Hall Christian will be up against a hot Rockbridge Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Scots were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Mount Airy Christian Academy on Thursday.
Rockbridge Academy got a great performance from Mason Monico as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. Monico also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Scots are 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, William Schingeck was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zachary Parlette, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Perry Hall Christian walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. Perry Hall Christian hasn't had any issues with Greater Grace Christian Academy recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Brady Krack and Caleb Parron were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Krack pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Parron struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Krack has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Krack got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Parron went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Perry Hall Christian got a massive performance out of Rashad Carrol, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolya Kuriny, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Rockbridge Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Perry Hall Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rockbridge Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Perry Hall Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Rockbridge Academy couldn't quite get it done against Perry Hall Christian in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 5-2. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
