Shawnee has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Middletown South Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middletown South took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shawnee, who comes in off a win.
Shawnee can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Williamstown 42-7 at home. Given Shawnee's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Williamstown is ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shawnee can attribute much of their success to Nick Rusinski, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Liam Gilmore also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Middletown South was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 17-13 to Donovan Catholic. Middletown South has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Middletown South, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
