The Yorktown Tigers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Wapahani with points to spare, taking the game 55-41. The victory was all the more spectacular given Yorktown's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Wapahani is ranked 32nd).
Kieran Tewari was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Grim, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Yorktown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Wapahani, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-1.
Yorktown will square off against Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wapahani, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Randolph Southern has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
