The Rising Sun Shiners won the last time they faced the Crothersville Tigers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Rising Sun walked away with a 50-42 victory over Crothersville.
Rising Sun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Morris, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nate Elliot, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Crothersville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tymir Cromwell, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Cromwell pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Turner, who scored ten points.
Rising Sun's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Crothersville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rising Sun and Milan will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Milan has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30. Crothersville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Edinburgh at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
