Even though the Memorial Warriors scored an imposing 73 points on Tuesday, the Emerson Mavericks still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Emerson made off with a 74-73 victory over Memorial. The win made it back-to-back wins for Emerson.
Emerson found their leader in underclassman Keonte Greybear, who scored 33 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Stoehner, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Emerson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14.
Emerson will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Emerson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Memorial is coming into the game with five straight losses at home, meaning Liberty will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
