Sunnyside gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by  an  11-1 margin over the Kiona-Benton Bears. The  win was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 C.J Acosta was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Acosta was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Ryker Heeringa was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was  Noe Gonzalez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 Coming up, Sunnyside will square off against River View at 3:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Kiona-Benton, they will face off against Zillah at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
