The Broadneck Bruins were handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the North County Knights on Tuesday. Broadneck blew past North County 64-13 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Broadneck has managed all season.
Mackenzie Wharton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ginger Kerdock, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
Broadneck's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for North County, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadneck is on the road again on Friday and plays Southern at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Southern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for North County, they will head out on the road to challenge Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Northeast is ranked 234th, while North County is ranked 215th).
