The Boyd Anderson Cobras were the 61-53 winner over the Taravella Trojans when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Boyd Anderson received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 63-48 to the Trojans. Boyd Anderson just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Despite the loss, Boyd Anderson still got an impressive performance from Theodore Richardson III, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydan Silvera, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Boyd Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taravella only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Leading Taravella to victory were Camden Fearon and James Ganley. Fearon scored 19 points along with eight assists, while Ganley went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. Fearon is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now racked up eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Juvens Atulon, who scored six points along with two steals and two blocks.
Boyd Anderson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Taravella, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boyd Anderson will square off against the Conchs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Taravella, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Trojans in Florida (the Lions are ranked eighth, while the Trojans are ranked 140th).
